UN Pledges Investigation into Systematic Executions in Al-Fashir

The United Nations Deputy Secretary-General⁤ for Humanitarian⁣ Affairs and Emergency Relief​ Coordinator pledged that ⁣investigations will be conducted into executions and systematic detentions in‍ El Fasher.

Tam Fletcher, the UN Deputy Secretary-general for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, issued a statement affirming efforts to reach El Fasher. He described delivering aid to⁢ El Fasher as a ‌daunting task.

Fletcher ‌added that El Fasher will ⁤be treated as a crime scene for investigations into reports of executions and systematic arrests.

He emphasized the urgent need to establish secure access⁢ routes for humanitarian workers entering El Fasher‍ and for survivors evacuating the area.

earlier, the Sudan Doctors’ Network reported ⁣over 30 cases of sexual assault ⁤against girls ‍in El Fasher within one week following ⁤an attack ⁤by Rapid ⁤Support ​Forces⁤ on the ‌city.

The network​ explained that some⁣ assaults occurred after RSF forces entered​ El Fasher,while others happened as victims tried to flee toward Al-Tawila.

The organization condemned repeated⁤ instances of sexual violence against women and girls in El Fasher, holding Rapid Support ⁢Forces responsible.
