EU Sanctions 10 Russian Officials

The Council of Europe announced sanctions against 10 Russian officials over human rights violations.
The Council of Europe, in a statement issued from Brussels on Thursday, imposed restrictive measures on 10 individuals responsible for serious human rights abuses and the suppression of civil society and opposition in Russia, according to the English section of webangah News agency, citing Mehr News Agency and the Council’s official website.
The statement adds that the new lists target senior officials in the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in Rostov Oblast, including those linked to Detention Centre No. 2.
It further notes that today’s sanctions also focus on members of Russia’s judicial bodies.
