Araghchi: We Are Better Prepared Than in Previous War; Support a Fair Agreement

Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi told The Economist in an interview that the country is more prepared than during the previous conflict, with improvements in both the quantity and quality of its missiles.
“We do not seek war,” he said, “but the best way to prevent it is indeed to be ready for it.”
Araghchi emphasized that the Islamic Republic supports a fair and balanced agreement. He added, “The Americans wont to dictate their demands.”
The minister reflected on lessons learned during the 12-day war, noting, “We identified our strengths and weaknesses and also those of Israel. We have worked on all these areas and are fully prepared- even more so than last time.”
Responding to a recent anti-Iran resolution passed by the IAEA Board of Governors, Araghchi criticized those countries for undermining the agency’s credibility and independence by ignoring Iran’s goodwill efforts. He said their actions disrupt cooperation between Iran and the IAEA.
“Today,” he stated in an official letter to the IAEA Director General, “we declared that this understanding is no longer valid and shoudl be considered terminated.”
