Netanyahu Responds to Zahran Medani: I Will Not Cancel My Trip to New York

Israel’s Prime Minister⁣ has responded to remarks by New ‍York’s ‌newly elected⁣ mayor, Zohran Mamdani, who pledged to enforce ‌the ⁢International Criminal Court’s arrest warrant against him.​ He affirmed that he will not cancel any of his planned‌ trips to the united States.

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, Benjamin Netanyahu ⁤told a Hebrew ‌platform on‍ telegram in response to ⁢Zohran ‍Mamdani’s statement that he would execute the ICC‍ arrest warrant upon Netanyahu’s arrival in ⁢New ⁢York: “I will not ⁣cancel any trip and I​ pay no attention to threats.”

The Israeli Prime minister also dismissed global calls for an independent Palestinian state as an unrealistic idea. He added that even amid efforts to normalize relations⁤ with Saudi Arabia, this issue⁤ is not on ⁤his‌ agenda.

Netanyahu referred to ongoing political contacts with​ Saudi ⁢Arabia‌ aimed at advancing normalization⁢ talks, saying:​ “What is publicly stated does not always reflect what happens‍ behind closed-door ⁢negotiations.”

Claiming that Israel’s military ‌offensive on​ Gaza was decisive in securing the release ‍of Israeli captives, Netanyahu saeid: “The violent phase of the war has ⁣ended, but⁣ a return to fighting on any front ‌remains possible.”

Regarding the Rafah crossing point, ⁤he stated it will only reopen for Palestinians leaving Gaza after Israel completes returning its prisoners’ bodies.

Netanyahu⁣ called on Egypt to allow Palestinians safe passage out of Gaza through Rafah.

Responding to former President Trump’s announcement about selling F-35 fighter⁣ jets to Saudi Arabia,Netanyahu said during a phone call with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio that America reaffirmed its ⁣commitment to ⁣preserving Israel’s military superiority.
