Heavy Drone Battle Erupts Between Russia and Ukraine
According to the English section of webangah News Agency,citing Mehr News Agency and Russia Al-Youm,the Russian Ministry of defense announced that its air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 33 Ukrainian drones last night across different areas of Russia.
These drones were tracked and eliminated over regions within Russia as well as above the Black Sea.
Meanwhile, Ukraine’s Air Force stated that it had shot down 95 Russian drones last night over various locations within Ukraine.
It is indeed worth noting that on February 21, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin recognized the independence of the Donetsk and Luhansk people’s Republics in the Donbas region, criticizing Western disregard for Moscow’s security concerns.
Three days later,on February 24,Putin launched a military operation against Ukraine-referred to by him as a “special operation”-turning already tense Moscow-kyiv relations into open conflict.
The United states and Western countries responded by imposing extensive sanctions on Moscow and delivering billions of dollars worth of weapons and military equipment to Kyiv.
