Three Iraqi Figures Emerge as Contenders for Prime Minister Post

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, informed political sources told Shafaq News that Coordination Framework coalition meetings have intensified in recent days. They aim to reach a preliminary agreement before entering negotiations with other political groups over appointing leaders of the three branches of government.
the sources added that the original list of 15 candidates has now been narrowed down to three names.
Currently, these include mohammad shia Al Sudani, Nouri al-Maliki-head of the State of Law Coalition-and Hamid al-Shatri, head of Intelligence Service. Following the Coordination Framework’s procedure, it is indeed expected that the prime minister will be selected through an internal vote.
The sources emphasized that further meetings between coalition leaders are scheduled in the coming days to establish a consensus mechanism ahead of talks with Sunni and Kurdish factions.
