U.S. Plan Sparks Ukraine’s Anger

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Russia Today, the Kyiv Post reported that the US-proposed ceasefire plan in Ukraine has sparked strong outrage among Ukrainian authorities.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said today that he is reviewing the plan and emphasized it must lead to genuine peace. He held phone conversations wiht French President Emmanuel Macron, Labor Party leader Keir Starmer, and Chancellor Olaf Scholz regarding the proposal.
An Axios correspondent also reported that a draft of the US peace plan outlines conditions for a ceasefire and provides security guarantees based on NATO’s Article Five. The framework would be implemented over ten years, deeming any large-scale, purposeful, repeated Russian attacks as violations threatening peace.
The plan requires NATO members to coordinate responses with the United States.”
Previously, Ukrainian sources revealed they had obtained details of Washington’s 28-point ceasefire proposal for Ukraine. According to these sources, key elements include:
- Provision of conditional security guarantees to Ukraine;
– Ukraine legally enshrining neutrality and renouncing NATO membership in its constitution; NATO confirming Ukraine will never join;
– Limiting Ukrainian armed forces to 600,000 personnel;
- Maintaining Ukraine as a non-nuclear state;
– Recognition of Russian sovereignty over Crimea and over the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics;
– Freezing military conflict lines in Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions;
– Establishment of a demilitarized buffer zone under Russian control;
- Both parties pledging not to change borders by force;
- Prohibition on deployment of NATO troops inside Ukraine;
– Deployment of NATO fighter jets in Poland instead;
– Initiation of security talks between the US, NATO, and Russia with creation of a US-Russia working group;
– Russia legally committing not to invade Ukraine or Europe again;
– Launching major reconstruction investment projects led by the US and Europe in Ukraine;
– Allocating $100 billion from frozen Russian assets for rebuilding efforts-with 50% returns payable to Washington; Europe adding another $100 billion;

– Creation of an “Ukraine Development Fund” focusing on infrastructure, resources, technology;
– Gradual lifting of sanctions against Russia;
– Reinstatement of Russia into the G8;

– Humanitarian initiatives aimed at family reunification;
– Educational programs promoting tolerance;
– Restarting Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant under IAEA supervision-the generated electricity divided equally between Russia and Ukraine;
– American assistance rebuilding Ukrainian gas infrastructure;
– Holding presidential elections in Ukraine 100 days after signing agreement;
– Full amnesty granted for all participants involved in hostilities;
- The agreement being legally binding;
-The oversight conducted by a “Peace Council” led by Donald Trump;
-Violations triggering sanctions;
-Imposition promptly following signature: instant ceasefire followed by troop withdrawals back to agreed positions.
