UNIFIL: Lebanon’s Sovereignty Must Be Respected
United Nations forces in southern Lebanon stress the importance of respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country.
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr news Agency and Sputnik, the commander of United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) on Lebanon’s Independence Day emphasized that UNIFIL remains committed to supporting the Lebanese army.
He added that full respect for lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity is central to implementing Resolution 1701 and creating conditions for lasting stability.
The report from UNIFIL also highlighted that israeli forces have carried out over 10,000 violations-both ground and aerial-against Lebanon during what is referred to as a ceasefire period.
