Flood Death Toll in Vietnam Rises to 55
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, Vietnamese authorities have reported that the death toll from recent floods in central regions has risen to 55, as stated by the VnExpress newspaper.
Thirteen others remain missing, and search operations to locate them are ongoing.
Local officials also confirmed that floods have destroyed 946 houses and flooded nearly 28,500 residential units.
Although rainfall intensity has lessened and water levels in some rivers have receded, flood risks persist.
The flooding, which began earlier this week (local time), is among the deadliest natural disasters Vietnam has faced in recent months. It has also severely impacted critical infrastructure across affected areas.
Rescue teams continue to provide emergency aid and temporary shelter for those displaced by the disaster.
