Rubio Reacts to Europe’s Opposition to Trump’s Ukraine Peace Plan

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated in a message on X that Washington’s proposed plan to resolve the Ukraine conflict provides a “solid foundation” for initiating talks.
He wrote that this peace plan was developed by the United States and offers a strong framework for negotiations.
The American official added that the plan is based on proposals from Russia, but also incorporates prior and current views from the Ukrainian government.
Earlier, a spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State announced that rubio traveled to Geneva to participate in Ukraine peace negotiations involving representatives from Ukraine and European countries.
A group of European nations and international supporters of Ukraine issued a joint statement Saturday evening rejecting former President trump’s proposal to cede eastern Ukraine to Russia.
These supporters also deemed unacceptable the restrictions placed on Ukrainian armed forces within Trump’s plan.
The U.S. CNN network quoted a European diplomat stating that any agreement concerning Ukraine cannot include recognition of russian occupation.
