German Chancellor: Ukraine’s New Peace Plan May Not Be Approved Before Thursday

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Sputnik via Mehr News Agency, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said on Sunday that he doubts an agreement on ukraine will be reached by President Donald trump’s Thursday deadline.
The German Chancellor added, “We are far from that (deadline set by Trump).”
Speaking on the sidelines of the G20 summit in johannesburg, Merz noted that this does not mean achieving it is completely impractical. Though, given current disagreements, he expressed skepticism about reaching such a result.
Meanwhile, according to BBC reports, Donald Trump has given Ukraine until Thursday to accept a proposed 28-point peace plan. He warned that this plan is not the “final offer” and indicated that deadlines could be extended if “things go well.”
Merz said the focus should now be on preparing a document acceptable to Ukraine, which can then serve as a basis for negotiating a peace agreement with Russia.
