Drone Attack on Khur Mor Gas Field in Iraqi Kurdistan Repelled

Iraqi defence systems activated as a drone approached the Khurmor gas field, one of Iraq’s largest, according to security sources cited by webangah News Agency. It remains unclear whether the drone was shot down. During the incident, alarms sounded at the site adn workers were relocated to secure areas.
The attack reportedly caused no damage.
The Khurmor gas field lies between Kirkuk and Sulaymaniyah and is managed by the Kurdistan Regional Government. The field has been targeted multiple times in recent years with no group claiming obligation.
Kurdish regional politicians have previously condemned these attacks.Last April, a drone strike killed four Yemeni workers at this site. In January 2024, two Katyusha rockets were also fired toward the gas field.
