Lebanon’s National Parties React to Israeli Regime Attack on Beirut’s Dahieh
according to the English section of webangah News Agency, quoting Al-Manar via Mehr News Agency, Lebanese parties, groups, and national figures issued a statement strongly condemning the Israeli regime’s attack on Beirut’s suburbs. The assault resulted in several citizens being martyred or injured, including a Hezbollah commander. The groups denounced this blatant violation of Lebanon’s sovereignty and outlined Tel Aviv’s strategic and sinister aims behind such incursions.
The statement emphasized that the deceitful and escalating Zionist aggression against lebanese sovereignty constitutes an explicit breach of the ceasefire, UN Security Council Resolution 1701, and also all international conventions and norms.
The Lebanese factions highlighted that this attack-considering its timing and objectives-is inseparable from Israel’s attempt to impose its own scenarios by force and fulfill its malicious strategic goals. Key targets include:
- Disarming the Resistance: An overt effort to compel Lebanon to relinquish its primary defense element, rendering it vulnerable to future aggressions.
- Sparking Internal Discord: Provoking conflict between the Lebanese army and resistance forces to undermine their coordination and unity while distracting citizens from core issues.
- imposing Surrender Terms: Forcing Lebanon into signing an agreement comparable to capitulation that serves occupiers’ expansionist ambitions.
The national parties also stressed that this escalation occurs under U.S. political cover with Washington granting a green light-a government siding with Israel using it as leverage for regional projects at Lebanon’s expense regarding sovereignty and rights.
The groups asserted that addressing this extensive challenge requires a unified Lebanese strategy founded on strengthening national unity, cohesion within ranks, and consolidated political stance across all factions. Such solidarity would block internal sedition efforts aimed at division.
The statement called for intensified media efforts to raise public awareness about Israel’s nefarious intentions toward Lebanon. It urged activating Lebanese diplomacy by filing complaints against Israel before the United Nations and Security Council.
Additionally,they advocated consultations with amiable states alongside cooperation from the Arab league and Organisation of Islamic Cooperation aiming at protecting Lebanon from Zionist attacks.
