Trump Administration Reviews Refugee Admissions Under Biden Administration

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, the associated Press reported that President Donald Trump’s administration is planning a thorough review of refugees admitted during former President Joe Biden’s term.
This report follows Reuters’ coverage revealing that, as part of ongoing immigration crackdowns, the Trump administration has delayed processing Ukrainian refugees who entered the U.S. under a humanitarian program initiated by the Biden administration. This delay puts nearly 200,000 refugees at risk of losing their legal status.
Launched in April 2022 to assist Ukrainians fleeing war, Biden’s immigration program allowed approximately 260,000 Ukrainians to enter the United States for a two-year period. Though, internal government data now shows that delays by the Trump administration in processing these refugees have left roughly 200,000 Ukrainians in legal limbo and facing potential loss of status by March 31.
