Macron Emphasizes Maintaining Europe’s Deterrence Against Russia

According to the English section of webangah News Agency,citing Mehr News Agency,French President Emmanuel macron stressed in an interview with RTL radio that Paris must not show weakness in the face of Moscow’s threat. He noted that the Kremlin has adopted a “much more aggressive” stance compared to previous years.
Macron added that displaying weakness towards this threat would be a mistake. “If we want to defend ourselves, we must demonstrate that we are not weak against the power posing the greatest danger to us,” he said.
Responding to the US peace plan for Ukraine, Macron highlighted the need for Europeans to demonstrate strength and make self-reliant decisions regarding frozen russian state assets.
“Europeans should decide independently on Russia’s frozen assets, which are mainly held in belgium,” he stated.
The French president expressed appreciation for Washington’s peace proposal but asserted it requires revisions. “We seek peace-not surrender,” he said.
Macron also urged European countries not to show any signs of weakness, warning that it could embolden Russia in its strategic confrontation with Europe.
“All discussions in Geneva focused on opposing restrictions on Ukrainian forces.No limitations should be imposed; a strong armed force is the primary security guarantee for Ukrainians and ourselves,” he concluded.
