Ukraine: We Will Not Stop Pursuing NATO Membership

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, Andriy yermak, Head of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s Office, told Axios in an interview that Ukraine will not abandon its path toward NATO membership in the future.
Yermak stressed that the Ukrainian goverment will not back down from its legal obligation to join NATO.
The Ukrainian official also rejected the 28-point U.S.peace plan for Ukraine as unacceptable.
Ukraine has repeatedly affirmed its desire to join NATO as quickly as possible. Kyiv submitted a formal request for accelerated NATO membership in September 2022. In January this year, Zelensky stated that Hungary, Germany, Slovakia, and the United States opposed Ukraine’s accession to NATO.
The original U.S. peace proposal aimed at ending the war includes commitments from Kyiv not to join NATO and limits on the size of its military. European leaders have objected to some provisions of Washington’s plan and called for revisions.
