Italian Expert: U.S. Peace Plan Means Ukraine’s Surrender

A prominent Italian ‍analyst described the ⁢US peace plan as a sign of Ukraine’s surrender to Russia.

According to the English section of‍ webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, Alessandro Orsini told Sputnik in an interview that‌ the details of the US peace ‌plan for Ukraine reveal, for⁣ the first time, a global discussion about ”Ukraine’s surrender conditions.” The main debate centers on whether this ⁤surrender will be unconditional or include terms unacceptable to Russia.

He added that the European Union⁤ still refuses to ‌acknowledge that Russia has defeated not ⁤only Ukraine⁢ but⁢ also this political union.

The regional expert referred to European countries arming and ‍equipping Ukraine to fight Russia. ⁢He said ‍the EU has suffered a severe blow and is now confused, which explains why ⁣it ⁢makes irrational statements and proposals while ⁢attempting to rewrite former President Donald Trump’s⁤ peace plan.

Consultations‍ between Ukraine and the EU with Washington aim to modify elements⁢ of Trump’s proposed peace plan. However, significant changes‍ seem unlikely.

In recent remarks, the US president stated that⁣ Washington’s initial 28-point peace⁣ proposal for Ukraine has been reduced to 22 points.

Earlier, The Guardian reported that Ukraine succeeded in revising America’s peace plan by removing some unacceptable demands and cutting its points from 28 down ‍to 19.

Last ‍week, reports indicated Washington offered a 28-point peace initiative-which met criticism from several Kyiv allies ⁢in Europe. On November ⁣14th‍ (Gregorian calendar), ⁢consultations‍ took place in Geneva between ‍US and Ukrainian officials regarding Washington’s proposal.

According to Ukrainian media, American and Ukrainian‍ delegations ‌agreed on most clauses of the plan.⁤ Remaining ⁤disputes are expected to be ‍addressed during a meeting between ⁤US President Joe ⁢Biden ‍and his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Kremlin spokesman⁤ Dmitry Peskov told reporters tuesday that russia finds⁤ Ukraine’s original peace proposal “reasonable” ⁤and considers it ‍”a ‌suitable basis for negotiations.”
