Ryabkov’s Latest Position on Russia-US Relations

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said Moscow’s proposals regarding the New START treaty aim to prevent global negative scenarios. He warned that global security will deteriorate if Washington rejects Russia’s proposals on the treaty.
He added that relations between russia and the United States are currently in their early stages of normalization. For Russia, it is crucial that negotiations over Ukraine uphold the understandings reached during Putin and Trump’s meeting in Alaska without deviation.
Ryabkov further stated that some European countries are actively trying to prevent Russia and the US from reaching agreements on Ukraine. Still, Russia remains ready to continue dialog with Washington on resolving the Ukrainian crisis.
He noted there have been numerous obstructive efforts undermining progress toward settling the Ukraine conflict between Russia and America. While coordinating contact between Foreign Ministers Lavrov and Rubio could be arranged quickly if necessary, there is currently no specific agreement on this matter.
