Kallas: Pressure on Russia Must Increase to Achieve Ceasefire

The⁤ EU’s foreign policy ⁢chief, Kaya callas, emphasized the importance of supporting Ukraine and increasing pressure on russia to end the war. Speaking Wednesday, she ⁤stated that‍ there are still no signs of⁤ Russian willingness to agree to a ceasefire or end the conflict.

Callas stressed that pressure on Russia​ must be intensified to reach⁢ a ceasefire.She called for additional ‍sanctions aimed⁢ at depriving Moscow of its ability to continue ⁤fighting.

She added that imposing more sanctions is crucial for limiting Russia’s⁣ war capabilities. Security guarantees for Ukraine do ‍not change the fact ​that Russia remains a ‍threat. The EU supports any peace ⁤plan focused on achieving a just and​ lasting resolution in‍ Ukraine.
