Nigeria Declares Security Emergency

Following multiple abductions in Nigeria, the country’s president has declared a nationwide security emergency.
Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu announced a state of emergency on security across the country on Wednesday, according to the English section of webangah news Agency.
The president instructed the Nigerian police and armed forces to recruit additional personnel to address the rising insecurity nationwide.
A statement from the State Assembly detailed that President Tinubu has ordered the police force to hire 20,000 new officers and increase total recruitment plans to 50,000 personnel.
Media reports attribute this directive by President Tinubu to a surge in kidnappings across Nigeria.
