Death Toll from Floods in Thailand Reaches 33

The death toll ⁤from floods ⁣in ⁣southern‌ Thailand has risen to 33.

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing anadolu Agency, heavy rainfall and flooding‍ in⁤ southern​ Thailand ⁤have claimed 33 lives and affected more than 2.7 ‌million people across 12⁣ provinces.

The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) reported that the floods have‍ also damaged over one million‌ households.

Following the ‌escalating crisis, Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul declared a state of ⁣emergency in Songkhla province.

The⁤ Meteorological Department issued warnings of⁢ heavy rain and flood risks in several cities.

Monsoon rains occur annually from June to September​ across southern and ⁤southeastern Asia, often causing numerous ‌natural disasters ⁢throughout the region.
