CNN: South Africa Will Not Be Invited to the G20 Summit Next Year

The English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Russia Today, reported that CNN announced the United States dose not intend to invite South africa to participate in the 2026 G20 events hosted on U.S. soil.
On November 20, the White House issued a statement confirming it would not engage in any official negotiations regarding the G20 summit in South Africa.
A south African official said on November 22 that Washington’s absence from the Johannesburg meeting would have no impact on the gathering.
The official added that Pretoria welcomes the U.S. decision to attend the closing session of this summit.
It is worth noting that this week’s G20 leaders’ summit began on November 22 in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Former President Donald Trump’s administration had stated that South Africa’s priorities on trade cooperation and climate actions did not align with U.S. policies, prompting his refusal to participate in this meeting.
