Trump Advises Japanese Prime Minister: Do Not Provoke China

Following provocative remarks by the Japanese Prime Minister on ChinaS sovereignty‌ over Taiwan, Trump urged ⁢Takaiichi ⁣not to provoke China on the taiwan issue.

According to the English section of ⁤ webangah News Agency, citing‌ Mehr News Agency and the American newspaper the ⁣Wall​ street Journal, United ⁢States ⁣President Donald Trump advised Japanese Prime minister Sanae Takaiichi not to provoke ‍China‍ over Taiwan amid diplomatic tensions between Tokyo⁤ and Beijing.

The dispute⁢ between China and Japan, two of Asia’s largest economies, began after takaiichi stated that Tokyo could intervene ⁤militarily in any attack​ on the island that China claims as its own territory.

china’s ‌Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that President​ Xi Jinping emphasized in a phone call with Trump on Monday that Taiwan’s ⁤reunification with China is an inseparable part‍ of ⁣the ⁣post-war ‍international⁢ order.

The Wall street Journal quoted Japanese ‍officials ‌and a informed ⁢U.S. source saying that after Xi’s call with Trump, the U.S. president contacted Takaiichi and advised her against provoking Beijing regarding Taiwan’s sovereignty.
