Australia Takes Hostile Action Against Iran

According to the english section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency quoting Al Jazeera, Australia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has taken a unfriendly measure by labeling Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a supporter of state-sponsored terrorism, relying on unfounded allegations.
Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong claimed that “following intelligence assessments indicating that the IRGC organized attacks against the Jewish community in Australia,” her country is designating the IRGC as a state sponsor of terrorism.
Earlier in September 2023, the Australian government accused the Islamic Republic of Iran of involvement in two antisemitic attacks in Sydney and Melbourne. It also gave Iran’s ambassador seven days to leave australian territory.
about three weeks ago, Australia’s parliament granted permission for the government to add Iran’s IRGC to its official list of “state-sponsored terrorism supporters.”
In response to these accusations, Iranian officials including Esmaeil Baqaei, spokesperson for Iran’s ministry of Foreign Affairs, rejected these claims and emphasized that ”antisemitism has no place in the policies of the Islamic Republic.”
