China Opposes U.S. Moves Against Venezuela

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Global Times, China on Friday firmly opposed any foreign interference in Venezuela’s internal affairs.
Mao Ning, spokesperson for China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that China consistently opposes unilateral sanctions that lack a basis in international law and have not been approved by the UN Security Council. He emphasized China’s strong objection to any foreign intervention in Venezuela under any pretext.
Mao urged the United States to lift its illegal unilateral sanctions and take further steps to promote peace, stability, and progress in Latin America and the Caribbean.
The Chinese official added that the only path to fostering peace, stability, and development in Latin America and the Caribbean is for Washington to halt its unilateral pressure. He called on the U.S. to abandon its provocative approach and respect regional realities.
