China Opposes U.S. Moves Against Venezuela

According to the English section⁣ of webangah News Agency, ‌citing⁣ Mehr News Agency‌ and Global Times, China on Friday firmly​ opposed any foreign interference in Venezuela’s internal affairs.

Mao‍ Ning, ⁢spokesperson for China’s⁢ Ministry​ of Foreign Affairs, stated that China consistently opposes unilateral ⁤sanctions that lack a basis in ⁣international law and have not been approved by the UN Security Council. ​He ‌emphasized China’s strong ⁢objection to any foreign intervention in Venezuela under any‍ pretext.

Mao urged the‌ United States to lift its⁤ illegal unilateral sanctions and take further steps ‍to promote peace, stability, and progress in Latin America and the Caribbean.

The Chinese ⁢official added that the only⁢ path to fostering peace, stability, and development‍ in Latin ‍America and the Caribbean is for Washington to​ halt its unilateral pressure. He called on the U.S.‌ to abandon its provocative approach​ and respect regional realities.
