Close Zelensky Ally Resigns

According to teh English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced the resignation of his chief of staff and senior negotiator following a workplace inspection by anti-corruption authorities.
The Wall Street Journal had previously reported that retaining Andriy Yermak in his position amid Ukraine’s corruption scandal could provoke opposition backlash.
The website Strana.ua reported that the anti-corruption office’s workplace search of Zelensky’s chief was interpreted as an indirect message from the United States. This comes after Yermak publicly stated that Ukraine, under Zelensky’s leadership, would never make concessions.
Yermak’s remarks contrasted sharply with former US President Donald trump’s proposed plan to end the war in Ukraine, which involved Kyiv making concessions to Russia. Thus, Kyiv appeared to oppose this proposal openly.
Strana.ua added that political circles view the inquiry into Zelensky’s chief as US pressure on Kyiv to reconsider its stance against Trump’s peace plan.
It is noteworthy that corruption scandals in Ukraine during the ongoing war with Russia have increased public dissatisfaction with Zelensky’s administration.
