Denmark Stresses the Need for Inclusive Syrian Governance

Denmark’s Foreign Minister emphasized the ‍need for inclusive ⁣sovereignty in Syria involving all Syrians during ⁢a joint press conference with the Foreign Minister of the self-declared syrian government.

According to webangah⁣ News Agency, citing Al⁢ Jazeera, Denmark’s Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen held a joint press conference ​today, Saturday, with Assad al-Shiblani, Foreign Minister of ⁤the self-declared Syrian⁤ government.Rasmussen expressed hope for a ⁤near future exchange⁣ of ambassadors between the ‍two countries. He added ​that he will⁢ visit israel (the occupied Palestinian territories)⁢ tommorow ‍to ‍emphasize the need for‍ a enduring solution to⁣ regional crises.

The Danish minister further stated-without mentioning ongoing Israeli ​attacks ⁢on Damascus-that it would be better to have good relations between Syria and Israel. “We support ⁣a new Syria on its path toward a more ​prosperous future,” he said.”We are committed ​to building strong ties with Syria and ⁤will increase our annual aid ​to $100‌ million.”

Lars Løkke⁣ Rasmussen also stressed⁢ the importance of inclusive ⁢governance in ⁣Syria⁢ involving all ⁣Syrians. ‌He noted that major Danish companies will seek investment opportunities in Syria⁤ and that he has discussed ways to ⁣facilitate the return of Syrians currently living‍ in⁣ Denmark ​with his‍ Syrian⁣ counterpart.

These claims‌ of Danish assistance⁤ and‍ cooperation come ⁢while Western powers ​had consistently expanded sanctions and increased pressure ⁤on Syrians during Bashar​ al-Assad’s legitimate government ​tenure.
