New Tensions in Syria: Armed Clashes Erupt in Suwayda

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al-Balad, Suwayda province in southern Syria has experienced renewed tensions following clashes between forces loyal to Joulani, the self-proclaimed Syrian president, and armed groups near the village of Al-Mansoura west of the province.
Syrian media reported that Suwayda’s security chief released a video clip showing armed militants affiliated with Hikmat al-hajri raiding his home. He also threatened to respond to this attack.
As the overthrow of Bashar al-Assad’s regime and Joulani-affiliated forces’ rise in Syria, Suwayda has suffered widespread armed conflicts and tensions.
Earlier, the Syrian Observatory for human Rights noted an increase in drone attacks and violent clashes across Suwayda province in southern Syria.
