Pope Criticizes Zionist Regime in Lebanon’s Capital

Pope Leo XIV,leader of the world’s Catholics,criticized the Israeli ⁣regime for rejecting the two-state solution during ‍his visit to Beirut,Lebanon’s capital.

Pope Leo XIV, ⁣head of the⁢ Catholic church worldwide, emphasized the necessity of a two-state solution for⁣ Israelis and Palestinians during his ⁢first press conference aboard his plane en route to Lebanon,‍ according to webangah News Agency, citing Al Jazeera.

Anatolia News Agency quoted the Pope as saying, “Israel currently rejects the two-state solution despite it being the only‍ way ⁤to end the ongoing conflict.”

The Pope arrived ⁣in Beirut on‍ Sunday afternoon for a 48-hour visit. This marks his second stop on his first official foreign trip since assuming the papacy last May;⁢ his⁤ first stop was Turkey.

He also held meetings with lebanese President Joseph Aoun, Prime minister Nawaf salam, and Parliament Speaker Nabih⁤ Berri.

Addressing the⁢ Lebanese people, Pope Leo XIV stated: “You are a people ‍who do not surrender but endure hardships and ⁤know how to be reborn. You are a diverse⁢ country made up of communities united by one language-the language of hope-and this has allowed ⁢you to ‌start anew.”
