Democratic Leader in U.S. House Demands Defense Secretary’s Removal
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, Hakeem Jeffries, the Democratic minority leader in the U.S. House of Representatives, announced on Sunday that Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth is unfit for his position and should be dismissed.
Jeffries added that Pentagon actions along South America’s coasts require investigation. “we are witnessing extrajudicial killings on South American shores,” he said, “and no justification for these has been provided even in classified briefings.”
He further stated,”The United States is a nation built by immigrants and must also be a nation governed by law.”
This comes as former President Donald Trump pursues policies targeting immigrants following his return to power-measures that have met widespread opposition from both citizens and politicians across the country.
