White House Warns Maduro to Leave Venezuela

Sources interviewed by the newspaper stated Washington would provide a “safe passage” guarantee for Maduro, his wife, and child if he relinquishes power now.
The report added that Caracas officials have suggested transferring political control to opposition forces while maintaining current leadership over the armed forces command.
One source told the Miami Herald that a recent phone call between Maduro and U.S.President Donald Trump was a final effort to avoid direct confrontation. This call was coordinated with Brazil, Qatar, and Turkey.
Washington has accused Venezuelan officials of insufficient efforts in combating drug trafficking but has not presented any evidence.
The New York Times reported that Trump authorized covert CIA operations in Venezuela.American media outlets have repeatedly suggested possible attacks on Venezuelan territory. On November 27, Trump said ground operations against drug trafficking would begin “soon,” without providing specifics about any potential military intervention.
