Moscow Responds to NATO’s Preemptive Attacks Against Russia

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Sputnik, the Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson reacted to comments made by a NATO official regarding potential preemptive attacks against Russia.
Maria Zakharova, the Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson, described the recent statements by the NATO official about preemptive strikes as a highly irresponsible step. She said it reveals the alliance’s readiness to escalate tensions further.
In a statement published on the Russian Foreign Ministry’s website,Zakharova said Brussels frequently enough repeats its slogan about the alliance’s purely defensive nature. However, what Giuseppe Caffo Dragoni, chairman of NATO’s Military Committee, referred to as “preemptive attacks” exposes Brussels’ repeated false claims about this “purely defensive” character.
She added that these remarks deliberately undermine efforts to resolve the Ukraine crisis. “we view these statements as an intentional attempt to sabotage diplomatic efforts in ukraine. The real aims and intentions behind them have long been clear,” she said.
Zakharova emphasized that comments on possible NATO preemptive strikes against Russia are reckless and indicate NATO’s willingness to increase tensions. “We consider Giuseppe Caffo Dragoni’s statements a hazardous and irresponsible step. Those who make such remarks must be aware of their potential risks and consequences,” she stated.
It is indeed worth noting that General Giuseppe Caffo Dragoni previously spoke about the possibility of a preemptive attack against Russia.
