Macron: Europe Must Participate in Ukraine Security Talks
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Al Jazeera via Mehr News Agency, French President Emmanuel Macron expressed concern on Monday about the isolation of the European Union in peace negotiations over Ukraine.He stated that european countries must be involved in discussions on security guarantees for Ukraine. “We support efforts to achieve peace in Ukraine,” he added.
Macron continued: “Russia must provide clear details about its peace plans with Ukraine to American mediators. We share a common view with the United Kingdom on establishing a just and lasting peace in Ukraine… Russia has shown no sign of ending its aggression in Ukraine.”
He further emphasized that Ukraine has the sovereign right to decide over its territory. Security guarantees concerning Ukraine cannot be discussed without Kyiv and European countries participating. “In the coming days, we will hold further talks with our allies and Ukraine regarding these security guarantees,” Macron said.
