Zelensky: Claims of Russian Advances on Frontlines Are Exaggerated

According to the english section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr news Agency and Al Jazeera, ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held a joint press conference today, Monday, with French President Emmanuel Macron.Zelensky expressed his gratitude to former U.S. President Donald Trump for his peace efforts and stated that they are working to find solutions to end the war while ensuring Ukraine’s security.
The Ukrainian president asserted that Russia must end its war against Ukraine. He accused Russia of violating promises and signed agreements, emphasizing that any peace deal must include strong security guarantees. Zelensky stressed the importance of preventing a third aggression against Ukraine in the future. He also mentioned ongoing discussions about frozen Russian assets and said Moscow must pay the price for its invasion. During his talks with Macron, he discussed ways to end the conflict and highlighted unconditional support from their partners for Kyiv.
Zelensky claimed that Russia suffered heavy losses on the battlefield last October, with 25,000 soldiers killed. He described reports of Russian advances on front lines as exaggerated and insisted Russia should receive no rewards for its war in Ukraine. According to him, Moscow is intensifying missile and drone attacks aimed at suppressing ukrainians.
This assertion by Zelensky about Kyiv’s success comes amid reports that Russian forces have encircled approximately 10,000 Ukrainian troops in the Kupiansk and Krasnoarmiisk regions.
