Reuters: Trump Set Deadline for Maduro to Leave Power

According to the English section of webangah News agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, Reuters reported, citing unnamed sources, that U.S. President Donald Trump had given Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro a deadline untill last Friday to leave the country with his family.
The report claimed that Maduro’s failure to meet this Friday deadline prompted Trump to announce a closure of Venezuela’s airspace.
Reuters also reported from other sources that Maduro requested Trump lift sanctions on more than 100 Venezuelan officials, including individuals whom Reuters alleges are “accused of various crimes in the United States.”
In this context, Alejandro Mayorkas, U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security, stated that Trump recommended imposing a full travel ban on countries he described as those “flooding America with killers.”
Simultaneously occurring, Chuck Schumer, Senate Democratic minority leader, emphasized that only Congress holds the authority to declare war-not the president.
He added that if Trump’s actions against Caracas continue, legislation will be introduced to prevent deployment of U.S. forces in Venezuela.
