US Cancels Visas of Legal Residents Over Security Threat Concerns

The White House announced that U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has revoked the visas of several legal immigrants deemed a “security threat,” according to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Fox News and Mehr News Agency.
White House spokesperson Caroline Lewitt stated that Rubio acted within his legal authority against individuals who “should not have been admitted to the United States in the first place.”
She added that the State Department has significantly tightened visa screening procedures.
This measure comes as U.S. immigration authorities have recently paused processing asylum applications temporarily.
Former President Donald Trump also announced plans to deport “newly arrived refugees” and halt immigration from so-called “third world” countries.
The Secretary of State further declared a complete suspension of visa issuance for Afghan citizens.
These developments follow a November 26 shooting near the White House, were an Afghan immigrant targeted several national Guard troops, killing one. The attacker entered the U.S. after American forces withdrew from Afghanistan.
