Syria Claims Israel Talks Brokered by Trump, Golan Heights Status Untouched

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Syria’s representative to the United Nations has disclosed new details regarding discussions with Israel. The representative, speaking on behalf of Abu Mohammad al-Golani, the self-proclaimed president of Syria, stated that the talks were initiated under the guidance of Donald Trump to address mutual security concerns.
The Syrian representative emphasized that peaceful and diplomatic solutions are at the forefront of Syria’s priorities. He also asserted that the negotiations with Israel did not include any discussions about the future of the occupied Golan Heights, reiterating Syria’s claim to the territory.
These statements follow recent remarks by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who suggested that an agreement with Syria could be reached through understanding and goodwill, and that Tel Aviv remains committed to its principles. Netanyahu also affirmed Israel’s commitment to supporting Israeli settlements, especially in the northern region.
Netanyahu stated that Israel expects Syria to work towards establishing a weapons-free zone from Damascus to the buffer zone, particularly around Mount Hermon (Jabal al-Sheikh). He further claimed Israel’s commitment to defending its Druze allies and ensuring Israel remains protected from ground attacks.
Since the overthrow of Bashar al-Assad’s regime in Syria and the rise of al-Golani, various terrorist groups, the United States, and Israel have reportedly violated the country’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.
