Putin, Trump Representatives Discuss Ukraine Peace Plan in Moscow

President Vladimir Putin met with representatives of Donald Trump in Moscow to discuss a potential peace plan for Ukraine. The meeting, described as productive, involved discussions on a 28-point proposal and other documents aimed at resolving the ongoing crisis.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, discussions between Russian President Vladimir Putin and representatives of Donald Trump regarding a potential resolution to the Ukraine conflict have taken place in Moscow. Yuri Ushakov, an aide to President Putin, characterized the talks with Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner as both useful and constructive.

Putin reportedly indicated that while Moscow could agree with certain aspects of the U.S. plan for Ukraine, other points drew criticism from the Russian side. Ushakov noted that in addition to Trump’s initial 28-point plan for resolving the conflict, Russia had received four additional documents.

The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss avenues for further resolution of the Ukrainian crisis. Instead of specific proposals, the content of the U.S. settlement plan was the main focus. Prospects for achieving a long-term peace agreement in Ukraine were also explored, with both parties expressing readiness to continue cooperation towards that goal.

Putin conveyed greetings and several political messages to Trump through Witkoff. The possibility of a meeting between Putin and Trump hinges on the progress made in these agreements, according to the Russian official.

Prior to this, Kirill Dmitriev, a special envoy of President Putin, described the negotiations between Russia and the U.S. in the Kremlin as fruitful. The meeting with the American delegation, led by Steve Witkoff, concluded after five hours. Before arriving in Moscow, the American delegation met with Ukrainian officials in Florida, a meeting that U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio deemed productive, while also emphasizing that more work remains to be done.

Donald Trump unveiled his 28-point plan for resolving the Ukraine crisis several weeks ago, sparking extensive discussions among European and American officials. One of the most contentious elements of the plan involves the potential cession of parts of Ukraine to Russia.
