Putin to Meet Modi in India, Sign Economic Cooperation Agreement

Russian President Vladimir Putin is scheduled to meet with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi for both informal talks and formal negotiations, according to Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov. The leaders are expected to sign a series of agreements aimed at boosting economic cooperation between the two nations.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, President Vladimir Putin’s visit to India includes a series of high-level meetings and the signing of numerous agreements. Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov detailed the schedule, noting that Putin and Modi will hold an informal meeting on Thursday, followed by formal discussions on Friday within both limited and expanded frameworks.

On Friday, Putin is also slated to meet with the President of India. During the visit, the two sides intend to sign ten documents and more than fifteen commercial agreements. Ushakov added that following their discussions, Putin and Modi will issue a joint statement and approve an economic cooperation program between the two countries extending to 2030.

The informal meeting between Putin and Modi is considered a key element of the trip, facilitating strategic policy discussions. Ushakov expressed confidence that Putin’s visit will be productive and successful, further strengthening cooperation between Russia and India. Accompanying Putin on this trip are seven ministers, including Russian Defense Minister Belousov.
