NATO Chief Accuses China of Arming Russia in Ukraine War

NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte has accused China of providing Russia with weapons for its ongoing war in Ukraine. Rutte also affirmed NATO’s commitment to Ukraine and discussed peace efforts with the White House.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte stated on Wednesday that China is closely collaborating with Russia by supplying weapons for the conflict in Ukraine.

Rutte affirmed that NATO remains committed to supporting Ukraine while negotiations for a peaceful resolution are underway. He acknowledged that reaching a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine is a complex undertaking that requires substantial effort.

The Secretary-General further elaborated that NATO is coordinating with the White House and other parties concerning a peace plan aimed at resolving the Ukrainian crisis. He emphasized that any final resolution must guarantee an independent Ukraine and provide security assurances to prevent future Russian aggression, noting that Russia is allocating 40 percent of its budget to the war in Ukraine.

Regarding frozen Russian assets, Rutte clarified that NATO does not have an official position on how to handle them, stating that the matter is within the purview of the European Union.

Rutte also voiced concerns regarding the increasing interdependence between Russia and China, claiming that China is providing Moscow with necessary weaponry for the war against Ukraine. He added that China could potentially possess 1,000 nuclear warheads within the next few years.
