Moscow Awaits Washington’s Response on Putin-Vitkov Negotiations

The Kremlin is awaiting a response from Washington regarding discussions between President Vladimir Putin and U.S. envoy Steve Vitkov, according to Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov. No agreement has been reached yet on the date of the next meeting.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov stated on Friday that Moscow is still awaiting Washington’s response regarding the negotiations between President Putin and U.S. envoy Steve Vitkov. Ushakov also noted that no agreement has been reached yet on the date for the next meeting between Russian officials and Vitkov.

“We are waiting for our American colleagues regarding the negotiations that took place last Tuesday,” Ushakov said. “No understanding has been reached so far regarding the date of the next meeting between Russia and Vitkov.”

Ushakov further mentioned that the informal meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi lasted for more than two and a half hours.

On December 2nd, Vladimir Putin met with Steve Vitkov and Jared Kushner at the Kremlin.

In an interview with India Today, Vladimir Putin commented on his meeting with Steve Vitkov in Moscow, stating, “The meeting with Vitkov and Kushner lasted a long time because they had to examine each point of the peace proposals. The meeting with Vitkov and Kushner was very useful and necessary.”

The Russian President added that U.S. officials are currently engaged in shuttle diplomacy and are in contact with Russia, Europe, and Ukraine.
