Germany Rejects Guidance from US on Defense Strategy Amidst Tensions Over National Security

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Germany has condemned the national security strategy unveiled by U.S. President Donald Trump, insisting it does not require external guidance on its defense policies.
This stance follows the U.S. strategy’s claim that the era of Washington unilaterally shouldering global burdens is over, and allies must assume greater responsibility. The German government has expressed its disagreement with this assertion, underscoring its commitment to its own strategic priorities.
The U.S. strategy also warned against the potential erosion of European civilization and argued that NATO cannot expand indefinitely. Furthermore, the U.S. administration signaled its discord with certain European officials, citing deviations from democratic norms.
The reaction from Berlin signals a notable divergence in transatlantic relations, with Germany asserting its autonomy in matters of national defense and expressing reservations about the current direction of U.S. foreign policy.
