Canada Removes Syria from List of Terrorism Supporters Amid Ongoing Violence

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Canadian government announced it has removed Syria from its list of “countries supporting terrorism.” The decision comes as Syria continues to grapple with internal conflict and widespread violence.
Canada also removed Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham from its list of designated terrorist organizations. The Canadian government claims that these changes are aimed at supporting the efforts of the self-proclaimed Syrian government to stabilize the country and build a better and safer future for its residents.
The move follows similar actions by the United States and the United Kingdom, but it occurs as Syria faces escalating violence, looting, and internal conflicts since the ousting of Bashar al-Assad’s regime. Elements affiliated with Jolani, the self-proclaimed president, are reportedly playing an active role in the ongoing unrest.
The United States also removed Jolani’s name from its list of terrorists last month.
