Putin’s Visit to Delhi Highlights Strengthening Russia-China-India Axis

A Cuban professor specializing in international relations suggests that Vladimir Putin’s recent visit to India and meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi underscores the consolidation of the strategic alliance between Moscow and Delhi, as well as greater coordination with Beijing.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Yosmani Fernandez Pacheco, a professor of history at the Higher Institute of International Relations in Cuba, in an interview with TASS, assessed Russian President Vladimir Putin’s official visit to India and his meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi as indicative of a stronger strategic alliance between Moscow and Delhi, along with enhanced coordination with Beijing.

Fernandez Pacheco stated that the bond between Russia and India is now stronger than ever. He pointed to the alignment of the two countries’ positions on political and economic matters, along with the increasing trade volume between Russia and India, as evidence of this strengthened relationship.

The Cuban analyst noted that Russia, India, and China have been increasingly conducting their economic cooperation using national currencies in recent years, a trend that could weaken the role of the dollar in international trade.

Fernandez Pacheco highlighted that identifying new avenues for trade would be a key focus of Putin’s discussions in Delhi, noting that traditional trade routes between the two countries are under pressure from Western sanctions and restrictions.

He also emphasized the significant role of energy in the cooperation between Russia and India, adding that discussions between Putin and Modi in this area could lead to expanded cooperation in the energy sector.

The Russian President traveled to India and met with officials there last weekend.
