Turkish FM Calls for Ceasefires in Ukraine and Gaza

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan addressed the Doha Forum on Saturday, stating Turkey’s commitment to supporting peace initiatives for Gaza. Fidan highlighted the various challenges facing the Eurasia region, underscoring efforts to stabilize the situations in Ukraine, Gaza, and Syria.
Responding to a question regarding potential troop deployment to Gaza, Fidan affirmed Turkey’s willingness to play a role in supporting ongoing peace efforts, noting widespread support for the process. He also mentioned discussions surrounding a potential “international stabilization force,” emphasizing the need for careful consideration of its implementation, specific mission, and framework, given the realities on the ground.
Addressing the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, Fidan suggested that Europe, in the absence of the United States, may require more creative and flexible solutions. He posited that the most realistic path toward ending the war involves guiding both parties to peace negotiations, potentially under pressure, while acknowledging that negotiations are currently underway.
