US Navy’s USS Harry S. Truman Suffers $100 Million in Damages After Yemen Mission

The USS Harry S. Truman, a major US Navy aircraft carrier, reportedly sustained $100 million in damages during its eight-month deployment that included operations against Yemen. The vessel, commissioned in 1998, faced repeated missile attacks from Yemeni armed forces in the Red Sea during 2024.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier sustained significant financial damages, estimated at $100 million, during its recent eight-month mission, according to reports citing the US Navy. The information was initially reported by Zionist media outlets, according to Al Mayadeen.

The USS Truman, a cornerstone of the US naval fleet since its commissioning in 1998, was actively involved in operations against Yemen in 2024, facing multiple missile strikes from Yemeni armed forces in the Red Sea.

Earlier reports from the National Interest indicated that the USS Truman would likely be sidelined from future deployments in the near term, as the vessel requires extensive refueling and repairs expected to take several years.

The magazine emphasized that the USS Truman, originally deployed to counter Yemeni forces, has suffered considerable damage and is now slated for comprehensive overhaul and maintenance.
