US Eases Pressure on Lebanon to Disarm Resistance, Report Says

The United States has reportedly decreased its pressure on the Lebanese government regarding the disarmament of resistance forces, according to Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Anba.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, a Kuwaiti newspaper, Al-Anba, reports that the United States has lessened its pressure on the Lebanese government to forcibly disarm resistance groups.

The paper cites a formal statement from Lebanese President Joseph Aoun, who emphasized Lebanon’s preference for negotiation and diplomacy over military action. Aoun’s stance appears to have undermined the ability of Zionist factions to freely utilize military force and threaten large-scale conflict.

The newspaper suggests President Aoun has revealed his strategic assets, asserting that he possesses substantial leverage despite the on-the-ground realities. Aoun leveraged Pope Leo XIV’s visit to influence a shift in the U.S. position, securing American backing for Lebanon’s appeals to pressure Israel.

In a related development, an official source told Al-Anba that the reduced U.S. pressure on Lebanon concerning the disarmament of resistance can only be achieved through dialogue and increased pressure from regional and international stakeholders.
