Venezuela Rejects Trump’s Threats, Vows to Defend Sovereignty

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Venezuela’s Defense Minister asserted that the country stands ready to defend its sovereignty and unity at any time and in any place. This statement comes in response to recent remarks by U.S. President Donald Trump about a possible military intervention.
The Defense Minister emphasized that Venezuela’s military doctrine will never accept foreign dictates or threats against the nation’s dignity. He affirmed that the military stands united behind the country’s political leaders.
Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro also stated that Venezuela is not alone and that no imperial power can silence its voice. Maduro highlighted the global solidarity with the Venezuelan people against U.S. aggression, as demonstrated during the International Day of Solidarity.
These declarations followed protests in front of the White House on Saturday night, where demonstrators condemned the potential for U.S. military intervention in Venezuela.
President Trump recently commented on a potential operation against drug cartels in Venezuela, stating that the U.S. will soon launch a ground offensive against drug trafficking.
