Iraqi Factions Aim to Finalize Prime Minister Selection This Week

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Coordination Framework may finalize its candidate for Prime Minister this week.
Nasr Coalition spokesman Salam al-Zubaidi stated that the Coordination Framework is committed to the constitutional requirements and deadlines for appointing a Prime Minister. The coalition awaits the Federal Court’s final approval of the parliamentary election results to initiate legal procedures and convene the new parliament.
Al-Zubaidi added that the Coordination Framework has designated this week to select a candidate who is competent, considers both domestic and regional conditions, and possesses political and economic awareness while genuinely representing Iraq.
These statements come as all eyes remain fixed on the Federal Court’s validation of the election results, which will pave the way for the government formation process. As stipulated by the Iraqi constitution, the Federal Court must ratify the final results by June 25, 2025.
