Netanyahu Rejects Palestinian Statehood, Cites Security Concerns During German Chancellor’s Visit

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, hosting the German Chancellor in Tel Aviv on Sunday, stated during a press conference that the first phase of the Gaza ceasefire is nearing completion and expressed hope for progress into the second phase.
Netanyahu reiterated his rejection of a Palestinian state, asserting that Israel would not allow the formation of a Palestinian entity that could pose a threat. He emphasized that Israel seeks peaceful relations with Palestinians, but they must cease educating their children to kill Israelis and that security control would remain with Israel from the Jordan River to the sea.
Netanyahu also addressed the ongoing conflict with Hamas, accusing the group of violating the ceasefire and affirming that Israel would respond forcefully to any breaches. He noted ongoing efforts to retrieve a body held in Gaza.
He stated he will not visit Germany due to the International Criminal Court’s arrest warrant against him and Gallant, accusing the court’s prosecutor of tarnishing its reputation and urging the ICC to cease its allegations against Israeli soldiers. Netanyahu indicated that he has no intention of pursuing a political process unless he receives amnesty.
The German Chancellor affirmed Germany’s solidarity with Israel but stressed the importance of adhering to international laws and obligations.
